Professor and Doctor Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, Amics de la Ràdio Cultural Association Award
Professor and Doctor Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, President of the Catalan Society of Communication of the Institute of Catalan Studies (SCC-IEC) and CECABLE Director, won the Award of the Friends of the Radio Cultural Association (ACAR) during the events to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the organization, born in 1993 and which will celebrate the anniversary this 2023.
“I am happy and excited for this award, since I always carry radio in my heart and I believe that it is a means of communication with an essential trajectory to understand the evolution of our society”, explains Fondevila. The event took place on October 21 and 22, 2023 in Cardedeu.
The events began with the exhibition of radio equipment and documents from the ACAR historical archive. Announcers from RTV Cardedeu presented the event, at Cinema Esbarjo, where the report “100 years of radio in Spain: history and technique” was shown. Afterwards, the debate “Radio Museums and the present and future of radio” was held. The 58th Friends of the Radio Meeting was held on the indoor track of the Pompeu Fabra Park in Cardedeu, with a market of old radios and an auction of radio equipment.
