Dr. Fondevila joins the Observatory of Scientific Communication of the UPF
Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, director of CECABLE (Center for Studies on Cable), university professor (Escola Universitària Mediterrani of Universitat de Girona, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra)and principal investigator of the Research Group on Digital Journalism and Broadband and the Research Group on Innovative Monetization Systems of Digital Journalism and Marketing (SIMPED), joins the Observatory of Scientific Communication from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF).
The Centre for Scientific Communication is a special research center for the study of the different stages of transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to society and analysis of the relationship between science, media and society. The OCC, created at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 1994, is committed to being at the forefront of research, teaching and knowledge transfer in the study and analysis of the processes involved in the transmission of scientific, technical and medical to society.
This strong focus on excellence and the right balance between the three activities has led to the OCC to gain national and international reputation as being a constant reference of confidence in this field of research, with a European, Spanish and Catalan participation and projects financed by the EU framework programs.
