The VDSL2 possibilities
The Broadband Society infrastructure required to facilitate sound transmission and digital content marketing. When it reaches the quasi-universal access to ultra-fast networks, the content industry can further monetize their services and applications, and virtualization and sustainability go hand in hand in an even more marked.
In this way, the solution for the future, capacity and scalability, is the Fiber to the Home (FTTH), but the alternatives monetising telephone copper pair (xDSL and its various versions) are also collaborating to bring digital virtues many areas, many rural and little or no profitable for operators. In that vein, the VDSL2 vectoring technology from Alcatel-Lucent has delivered one million connections. The VDSL2 technology is the most innovative of DSL. Enables suppliers to provide their customers broadband services very high speed, modernizing the copper access infrastructure. This is an additional technological solution that solves short term goals for broadband coverage operators.
The VDSL2 vectoring technology was launched in late 2011, and allows operators to achieve broadband speeds of 100 Mbps download at distances up to 400 meters. This is reached or exceeded broadband targets set by national and regional legislators. Another advantage of this technology is its effect equalizer: operators ensure high speed in same lines of different qualities.
The million lines of VDSL2 vectoring from Alcatel-Lucent have delivered eleven different service providers (including Belgacom and Telekom Austria). Alcatel-Lucent has participated in a field test (TDC Denmark, China Telecom or P & T Luxembourg). In the latter case, combined grouping technologies (bonding) and vectorization of VDSL2, a technique doubles the distance that can provide 100 Mbps Broadbandtrends document (VDSL2 Vectoring Report) reflects the goodness this solution. Vectorizing copper, therefore, helps to extend the tentacles of the Broadband Society.
